Carrying out the program of widely selling compact lights to customers in accordance with the campaign on nationwide saving electricity, Binh Dinh Power Plant is assigned to sell 72,600 compact lights in 2008 by Power Company No.3. This is a tough target when the market has been full of low price kinds of light which are various in designs. Working staff of Binh Dinh Power Plant has regarded this as an important task which will disseminate customers to save electricity. Therefore, the plant has been attempting to fulfill the task.

Khanh Hoa: Saves 11 million kWh of power in 2008

As said by Mr. Bui Quang Hung, Chairman of Khanh Hoa Power Company, this year, Khanh Hoa sets the objective of saving 11 million kWh of power, of which the power saved in offices is 9 million kWh and that in public lighting system is 2 million kWh. To May 2008, the province has saved more than 6.3 million kWh, a 4.7 million kWh year-on-year increase.

On May 29, as said by Ho Chi Minh City Power Company, the too slow progress rate of handing over the site plan to carry out power projects will have bad impacts on the operation of the city’s power transmission network, the back up capability in case of emergency, and will lead to the shortage of electricity mains in the coming time as well. Additionally, because the investment of these projects is derived from World Bank, the districts will be financially fined slow progress rate as a rule.

Complete and put An Hoa – Van Nien power network upgrade and development project into operation

The project on power network upgrade and development in An Hoa – Van Nien (Thua Thien – Hue) which is controlled by the Power Network Project Management Board has just been completed by Da Nang Electricity Construction and Industry Joint Stock Company. When being put into operation, the project well meets the increasing demand of electricity of the locals. It is implemented in 12 communes of Hue city and 3 districts, namely Quang Dien, Huong Tra and Huong Thuy. The total investment of the project is VND 32,763 million and the plan is to construct and upgrade 134 km of the 22 kV line, to replace and improve 120 transformer substations of 22/0.4kV with the capacity of 24,217 kVA.
