At the beginning of March 2008, the Planning and Investment Ministry approved the project on constructing Duc Hanh Hydropower Company (Duc Linh district, Binh Thuan province) invested by Vietnam Construction Investment and Trade Joint Stock Company. The total investment for the entire project is VND 1,500 VND.

On March 11, the authority of People Committee of Khanh Hoa province and Vietnam Energy Institute attended a conference to listen to the report on the planning of Van Phong power center in the combined economic zone of this region.

On January 16th, Mr. Tran Van Hai, the CEO of Thu Bon Hydropower Joint Stock Company, said that the Company would invest VND 2,372 billion in the construction of Bung River hydropower No.2 in Nam Giang district (Quang Nam province). The project has the capacity of 100 MW and the annual power output of 419 million kWh on average

The signing ceremony for “Additional development credit loan” Contract for A Luoi hydropower project between Central Hydropower Joint Stock Company and Vietnam’s Bank of Investment and Development – Branch in Thua Thien-Hue and the signing ceremony for “Insurance for construction and Installation of A Luoi hydropower project” Contract between Central Hydropower Joint Stock Company and Bao Viet Vietnam took place in Thua Thien-Hue on January 4th.

On December 30, In Tang Thuong commune, Di Linh district, Lam Dong province, Trung Nam Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company (in Ho Chi Minh City) started construction of Dong Nai Hydropower No.2 Project which has the capacity of 70 MW with the total investment of VND 1,633 billion.

Nui Coc River Hydropower Joint Stock Company has already started the construction of Nui Coc Hydropower Plant in Phuc Triu commune, Thai Nguyen city (Thai Nguyen province).

On December 25, People Committee of Quang Nam has already ratified the investment plan for 5 small and medium-sized projects.
