The temperature in the North has dropped in recent days. Moreover, water has flowed to hydropower reservoirs. Particularly, in 0.00 a.m. on August 19, 2008, in Hoa Binh reservoir, the water level was nearly 104 m and the water flow was 4,700 m3/s; in Yaly reservoir, the water level was 501.66 m and the water flow was 300 m3/s; in Tri An reservoir, the water level was 55.20 m and the water flow was 1,300 m3/s. With such water flow, the hydropower reservoirs have provided considerable power output for the power system.

Power supply all over the country still facing difficulties
Power supply all over the country still facing difficulties
(8/21/2008 4:30:28 PM)
As revealed by The Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) on August 4th, the maximum additional load of the power system in Vietnam, which is estimated at 12,000 – 15,000 MW/day, usually falls in the rush hours during the day. Meanwhile, the feasible capacity of the system in the beginning of this August is just 11,000 MW. Therefore, the generating capacity of the system cannot meet the loading demand, which makes the power system lacks about 1,000 – 1,500 MW in peak hours.
