Minister of industry and trade has recently issued a Decision No 0738/QD-BCT allowing Electricity of Vietnam Group(EVN) to establish Hanoi Power Corp (EVN Hanoi).

Complying with the policy of Vietnam Electricity (EVN) about upgrading power branches to power plants, on June 8, 2009, Da Nang Power One Member Limited Company made an announcement of establishing 5 underlying power plants based on the former branches.

EVN, aligned with its vision of being a world-class company, recently signed a contract with INDRA, a premier IT company in Spain, to jointly carry out the implementation of the Integrated Finance and Materials Management System (IFMMIS) project. The project covers the automation and optimization of essential processes of EVN in the areas of finance, materials, project and payroll management at EVN’s headquarters in Hanoi and in over 30 sites including power plants, transmission companies, power companies, telecom companies and other identified subsidiaries.

Being approved by People Committee of Lam Dong province, in Loc Tan commune (Bao lam district), on January 22, the South Hydropower Joint Stock Company started the construction of Da M’Bri hydropower plant with the total investment of VND 1,798 billion.
For the time being, 100% of Ca Mau’s communes have been supplied electricity to their centers and 87.19% of households in the province, approximately 223,795 households, is using power for everyday life’s activities and production. Ca Mau is attempting to raise this rate to 89% at the end of this year based on the development of low-voltage power network.

Ho Chi Minh City Power Company has just released a document that proposes the personnel of the company to register to join capital contribution for the establishment of Saigon Vina Land Power Joint Stock Company ((EVN – Land Saigon). According to this document, the chartered capital of EVN – land Saigon will be VND 1,500 billion, of which Ho Chi Minh City Power . Company will contribute 21%, approximately VND 315 billion.
