The National Power Transmission Corporation (NPT) launched ground-breaking start to construct the 220 kV Dak Nong – Phuoc Long – Binh Long power line on September 8 to increase power connectivity between the Central Highlands and southern Vietnam.
The 128 km power line stretches across Dak R’Lap district in Dak Nong province, to Bu Dang, Bu Gia Map, and Hon Quan districts and Binh Long town in Binh Phuoc province.
The project, scheduled to be completed by 2012, is designed to transmit power generated by plants in the Central Highlands to the national power grid in the 2012 – 2020 period.
The line will also play a central role in transmitting electricity to Dak Nong province and the southern region, as well as improving the regional power transmission infrastructure.
