As revealed by The Electricity of Vietnam (EVN), regardless of the downward trend in the stock market, EVN Telecom still carries out equitization in 2008.

At present, EVN Telecom is evaluating the business and choosing a method of selling shares. This enterprise has proposed to EVN to sell shares by auction to select foreign investors first, and then it will sell out shares to the public.
Up to now, there have been 5 or 6 world leading telecommunication corporations that want to be a shareholder of EVN Telecom. After equitization, EVN Telecom will operate with the model of mother – daughter companies with 5 daughter companies.
Also said by EVN, the power plants which have turned into joint stock companies such as Ninh Binh Thermal Power Joint Stock Company, Ba Ria Thermal Power Joint Stock Company and Thac Mo Hydropower Joint Stock Company are proceeding the paperwork to list stocks on the securities trading floor as planned.
